Kivotos Art Projects – The Finest Contemporary Greek Art Exhibited in Mykonos

For the third year in a row, Kivotos Luxury Boutique Hotel is delighted to host a modern art exhibition, and proudly showcase the work of the finest emerging contemporary artists in Greece side by side with well-established names in Greek modern art.
You only need to set foot in the hotel once to understand that a rich current of artistic sensitivity and appreciation runs through Kivotos Luxury Hotel. As a boutique design hotel featuring a distinctive blend of post modern elegance with a unique take on classic Mykonos Cycladic architecture, the character of the hotel is intertwined with artistic expression, creativity and freedom.
The Kivotos Art Projects programme celebrates this appreciation for the arts, using the beautiful art gallery showroom at Kivotos Luxury Boutique Hotel as the focal point for a wide ranging arts initiative, featuring a summer schedules filled with visual art, music and theatrical performances.
Through its links with the Aegeanale program, Kivotos Arts Projects is part of an internationally focused arts and culture movement first established in 2012 with the aim of celebrating the Aegean as an area of artistic inspiration and creativity, and helping to promote intercultural exchange and cultural tourism in the region.
By partnering with Aegeanale, Kivotos Luxury Boutique Hotel has brought the finest of Greek modern art and culture to Mykonos, with the hotel’s art gallery showroom serving as a hub for modern contemporary artistic expression on the island.
This year, the Aegeanale arts and culture platform has chosen Kivotos Luxury Boutique Hotel to launch its 2015 programme with a group exhibition running from 15th May until 5th October.
The Kivotos Art Projects Group Exhibition features the work of 20 celebrated visual artists working across diverse media, including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and multimedia. The exhibition is curated by Dr. Sozita Goudouna, Andrew Mellon Curatorial Fellow at Performa Institute New York, who has collaborated with the Marina Abramovich production “Seven Deaths”, and curated intermedia projects across Athens and London exhibition spaces, including the Tate Modern.
For the Kivotos Group Exhibition, Dr. Goudouna has put together a stunning modern art display featuring work by a mix of young up-and-coming and renowned artists. The 20 artists to be showcased at the Kivotos Luxury Boutique Hotel art gallery space are: Felix Delandre, Christoforos Doulgeris, Maria Fragoudaki, Mark Hadjipateras, Sofia Housou, Marion Inglessi, Juliano Kanglis, Michalis Katzourakis, Vassilis Kavouridis, Peggy Kliafa, James Lane, Iliodora Margellos, Leon Michail, Zeta Nikolakopoulou, Aliki Pappa, Katerina Papazissi, Brigitte Polemis, Dimitris Rokkos, Nikos Sepetzoglou and Theodore Zafeiropoulos.
The Group Exhibition will form part of the wider Kivotos Arts Projects programme for summer 2015, with a busy summer schedule celebrating modern Greek art and culture, with visual art combined with music and theatre.
