It is said that during the 18th century, Little Venice was considered to be the place where the houses of the richest merchants of the island were located. Also, due to the fact that the two of these historic houses belonged to captains of ships, these houses were called “kapetanakia”. Nowadays, most of the houses have been converted into stunning bars.
